PINELLAS PARK, FL — The U.S. 19 entrance ramps to Gandy Boulevard will temporarily close beginning Thursday at 9 p.m. to Friday at 6 a.m. so crews can perform roadway lighting improvements as part of the U.S. 19 interchange improvements at Gandy Boulevard in Pinellas County.

Construction activities are expected to finish during the fall of 2023.

During this closure, northbound and southbound U.S. 19 drivers needing to access Gandy Boulevard will travel around the work zone using 70th Avenue North and 34th Street North.

Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will assist drivers traveling through the area. Drivers should expect delays and congestion during this detour.

This $2.3 million project will add a left turn lane from southbound U.S. 19 onto the eastbound Gandy Boulevard entrance ramp. 78th Avenue will also be repaved between U.S. 19 and 43rd Street.
