CLEARWATER, FL — A water main break shut down the intersection of Highlands Avenue and Belleair Road in Clearwater on Friday, officials said.

Crews are assessing the damage to the 6-inch cast-iron water main to determine what repairs are required.

“This closure will most likely impact traffic, and it is possible the intersection will be required to close, in order to make the necessary repairs,” officials said.

It’s unknown how long it will take to make the repairs.

There are no residential or commercial water customers without water service.
