Abandoned Carrier Filled With Kittens Found In Dunedin Park
Pinellas County sheriff's deputies were in for a surprise when they were called to investigate an abandoned pet carrier at a Dunedin park.
DUNEDIN, FL — It wasn't a typical call for Pinellas County sheriff's deputies at the North District Station. No one was fighting, stealing or driving intoxicated.
But there was quite a bit of complaining in the form of mewling from the pet carrier that had been abandoned in a Dunedin park. Inside, deputies found 12 tiny, frightened and hungry crying kittens.
The deputies brought the bundles of fur back to the station, where they immediately became the center of attention.

Estimated to be around 4 or 5 weeks old, the kittens were too young to be adopted out. Suncoast Animal League picked them up and placed them in a foster home, where they'll be hand-fed until they're old enough to eat on their own.
When they're about 12 weeks old and have passed all medical checkups, they'll be put up for adoption.
