Dear Dunedin,
You may have noticed a lot of Band students collecting donations around town over the past few months. We'd just like to thank everyone for their support.
The funds raised allowed the band to take a trip to Washington, DC, and it was a huge success!

Highlights include:
- the band playing a concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial,
- touring Arlington National Cemetery,
- the Smithsonian Museum of American History and
- the Capitol building.
- attending a performance of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (which was amazing!), and
- Congressman Bill Young met with the students and is presenting a flag that flew over the Capitol to the band,
The band also competed in the Baltimore/Washington DC Music Festival where they won nine first place awards including Overall Best Band and are now a nationally ranked Superior band!

The students also enjoyed a day at Six Flags America.
None of this would have been possible without the support of the community and we just want to issue a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone that supported us and made this trip possible! The students now have a memory that will last them a lifetime!
