Applicants Sought For Dunedin Parks & Rec Teen Leadership Program

These young people will work during the summer camp programs.

DUNEDIN, FL — Dunedin Parks & Recreation is seeking responsible teen volunteers to be a part of the Teen Leadership Program and work during the summer camp programs. Teen leaders will work alongside camp leaders and adult mentors during the summer camp programs and gain valuable experience while learning leadership skills.

Goals of the program:

  • Prepare teens in the community for future leadership roles based on the "Leadership Begins With Me" motto.
  • Instill and develop self-motivation and work ethic
  • Teach invaluable skills and grow as responsible young adults
  • Take on future roles within the Parks & Recreation Department

  • Earning Community Service Hours for Scholarships/Clubs

Who should apply?

  • Teens who are age 13 (as of Jan. 1, 2022) - 16 years (as of Aug. 5, 2022).
  • Teens that can commit to five consecutive weeks of summer and all required training sessions.
  • Teens with leadership qualities, positive attitudes and those that are eager to be a role model to kids.

Selected applicants:

  • Selected teens will be notified by mail beginning Friday, April 22.
  • Selected teens must provide a copy of their birth certificate, obtain a background check, and attend all scheduled trainings.
  • Selected teens are required to return enrollment paperwork and pay $50 material fee; receive a $15 discount if paperwork and payment are submitted by Wednesday, May 4.
