Here are the top 4 stories in Dunedin today:

  1. The City of Dunedin will dedicate the sculpture created by artist Heath Satow in a public ceremony at the new City Hall on Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. It was originally planned for Dec. 15, but according to the city's Facebook page, it has been pushed back due to inclement weather. “The See” is described as "a sleek contemporary interpretation of a water droplet, to remind viewers they are a part of something larger. A single drop alone can’t impact change, but enough drops together can be the catalyst for great change." The City Commission approved Satow’s “The See” in December 2020. He has been designing and fabricating public art for more than 20 years. (Dunedin Patch)
  2. The Dunedin Goes Carting Christmas Parade 2022 is scheduled for Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Only those who have registered for the event can participate in the parade, but everyone is invited to watch! The route begins at the VFW Post 2550 on Douglas Avenue and ends after the loop at Mease Manor, where golf carts will disperse at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Virginia Street. If you're looking to take your cart out for a special holiday event, consider participating in the Dunedin Goes Carting Neighborhood Light Tour on Dec. 16! (Dunedin Goes Carting via Facebook)
  3. The Scottish American Society of Dunedin is hosting a New Year's Eve party on Dec. 31 between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. Tickets are $65 per person and include a traditional Scottish meal of Steak Pie and the trimmings. Attendees will also enjoy live music by the award-winning Celtic band Kirk McLeod and Seven Nations. Bring in the New Year with music, dancing, a champagne toast, Scottish shortbread, and bagpipes at midnight! Tickets are available on Eventbrite and include a Day Membership to the Scottish American Society of Dunedin. (Dunedin Patch)
  4. Fenway Hotel has appointed a new Executive Chef! Clayton Parrett will direct daily culinary operations at the hotel's HEW Parlor & Chophouse and Hi-Fi Rooftop Bar. Parrett has more than a decade of culinary experience, starting in south Louisiana, where he worked in kitchens learning the classic techniques of traditional French, Cajun, and Creole cuisines. His culinary journey eventually took him to Florida. Since then, he has collaborated with top chefs at the Orange County Convention Center and Amalie Arena before becoming Executive Chef at IMG Academy in Bradenton. (Hospitalitynet)
