Here are the top three stories today in Dunedin:
- A new event has been announced for Dunedin Pride Week! A free showing of the 2010 documentary "Gen Silent" is scheduled for June 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the Hale Senior Activity Center. It will be followed by a group discussion. The award-winning documentary follows the lives of six LGBT seniors living in Boston as they struggle with whether or not they will hide their sexuality in order to survive in the long-term health care system. - Today is National Kids To Parks Day, so get outdoors and enjoy Dunedin's city parks! With so many nearby parks and playgrounds to discover, consider spending the day with the kids exploring somewhere new! You can find a full list of Dunedin's parks online. (Dunedin Gov)
- With Dunedin Pride Week rapidly approaching, the subject of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression may arise more often. Many people avoid these discussions because it feels taboo, or because they’re afraid of saying the wrong thing. To assist you, Dunedin Pride has shared a glossary of terms to ease the conversation. If you feel like you need to brush up on some of your LGBTQ terminologies, be sure to check it out! (Dunedin Pride | Glossary)
