Here are the top three stories today in Dunedin:

  1. Next week is National Safe Boating Week in Dunedin with events planned to spread awareness and safety information. The week kicks off today with Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day. Snap a photo of you, your family, or even your pet wearing a life jacket at work and post it online using #WearYourLifeJacketAtWorkDay and tag @BoatingCampaign for a chance to win a prize! Additionally, the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-10 will be performing free Vessel Exams on Saturday, May 21, at the Dunedin Marina. Just look for a USCG Auxiliary Member or Staff Officer upon arrival. (Dunedin Gov)
  2. Due to the shortage of baby formula, Dunedin Pediatrics & Family is sharing its supply of various baby formulas. Call 727-734-7337 or stop by during business hours to learn what's available. If it doesn't have what your child uses, staff asks that you consider stopping by or scheduling an appointment anyway to discuss formula alternatives with Dr. Viv. (Facebook | Dunedin Pediatrics)
  3. Dunedin Fire Chief Jeff Parks has shared important information to help residents prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, June 1 through Nov. 30. He recommends residents stock up on a minimum of seven days worth of food and emergency supplies such as batteries, medicine, pet food and water. Parks also suggests you put important documents and insurance contact information in waterproof containers. Residents can sign up for evacuation notifications or request evacuation assistance on the county or city websites. Also, don't forget a tax-free holiday will be held between May 28 and June 10 allowing you to purchase emergency supplies up to $1,000 without added tax. This includes generators, coolers, flashlights and more. (Youtube | Disaster Supply Checklist)
