Live music, including the Black Honkeys, free food, drink specials and dog-friendly events are just some of the activities that will be going on Sunday at Bauser’s, which opened Sept. 20 in the spot .
“I’ve been eyeing this place for 18 years,” Baustert said by phone. “I’ve worked at Frenchy’s on the beach for the last 23 years, but I always said if I ever got my own place, this is where I want it to be.”

The newly renovated bar will eventually have a patio deck on the side facing Douglas Avenue, “hopefully in time for spring training,” Baustert says, and she is also working on improving the sound system and the smokiness.
Baustert plans to offer live entertainment at Bauser’s at least five nights a week, with karaoke and Texas Hold 'Em poker on the other two nights.
With a bevy of beer and wine establishments in the area, Baustert, who lives less than a mile away from her new bar, just wants to carve her own niche in the burgeoning Dunedin bar scene.
“I want to keep the people happy, the customers happy and the city happy," she says. "I want to have a friendly neighborhood bar and be a part of the Dunedin family.”
