Here are the top three stories in Dunedin today:

  1. Dunedin Parks & Recreation will hold a free Social Security & Disability seminar on April 26 at 10:00 AM. It will be held in the Hale Senior Activity Center and hosted by Attorney Nanette Cruz from the FL Bar Speakers Bureau. The Social Security Act authorizes the provision of benefits to specific demographic groups including the elderly, disabled, and blind. Attend to learn about programs like Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), as well as related programs like Medicare and Medicaid, which help make these benefits available. Additionally, learn the Social Security laws in place governing how these programs are run, how a person can qualify for benefits, and what amount of income those benefits can provide. 2. Wear your special Easter Bonnet and bring your very best good luck charm to the Hale Senior Activity Center on April 27 for EGGstravaganza BINGO! Come on down between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM with some friends or come make new ones. The event will include a special treat and refreshments. Those interested must pre-register by Monday, April 25. (Dunedin Patch)
  3. A robot will be cleaning the beaches in Pinellas County this summer! "BeBot" is an electric remote-controlled device that sifts through the sand and removes any items larger than a grain of sand. This includes seashells which are returned to the beach after the debris is sorted through. Keep Florida Beautiful Executive Director, Savanna Christy, described how the robot is also spreading awareness saying, “Not only is BeBot removing some of the most littered items on the beach — cigarette butts, bottle caps, etc. — but it is also attracting the attention of beachgoers, providing an opportunity to educate the public on marine debris and litter prevention. It’s a great way to spread awareness on a global issue.” BeBot is expected to arrive in Pinellas County in July! (WTSP.com)
