Looking for a great place to put up guests in Dunedin?
We all know Dunedin is a great place to visit. And we love it when our friends and family come to town. We just don’t always want them to actually stay in our homes. But how do we get that across without sounding, you know, a little rude…?
Here’s an idea: strongly suggest they stay at the Mai Tai Suites. Owners John and Karen Bickford offer fully furnished 850 square foot 2-bed, 1-bath suites for less than the price of a hotel.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:
- The Salty Soul Foundation is holding a Beach Cleanup event on May 13 between 9 a.m. and noon along the Dunedin Causeway. Since 2017, their mission has been to clean up our community, one beach at a time. Volunteers can register to help clean up online or support the cause by making a donation here. Additionally, all proceeds from merchandise sold during the event help cover the costs of cleanup and advertising. (Salty Soul Foundation via Facebook)
- Hope Grove of Dunedin offers a Motherhood Support Group on May 8 between 11 a.m. and noon. This free event aims to connect local mothers and create a comfortable environment to discuss motherhood. Those interested can participate in this event in person or online via Zoom. Learn more at the link. (Hope Grove via Facebook)
- Dunedin House of Beer is hosting a Seltzer Tasting on May 12 between 6 and 8 p.m. Stop by to enjoy eight different flavors by Untitled Art, two of which are limited releases. Some flavors you'll be able to try include Pineapple Mango, Naval Orange Yuzu, and Blackberry Agave. All of their seltzers are made with real fruit, gluten-free, and low-calorie. Thom Nobles from the Progressive Distribution team will also be hanging out and talking about the brand! (Dunedin House of Beer via Facebook)

From my notebook:
- Did you know that Dunedin Cares relies solely on donations to function and provide food for families in need? If you're able to, help support their mission by donating non-perishable food items or making a monetary donation here. (Dunedin Cares via Facebook)
- Pinellas County Animal Services reminds everyone that when newborn kittens are separated from their mother, their chances of survival drop dramatically. If you find a litter of kittens, their mother is likely nearby. While your first reaction might be to bring them to a local animal shelter, it's usually best to leave them alone. - Are you interested in getting more involved in your community? The City of Dunedin is now accepting applications from those interested in becoming a member of the Dunedin Housing Authority. Learn more and apply here. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
