Here are the top 3 stories in Dunedin today:

  1. A bluegrass concert with Nitrograss will be held at the Fenway Hotel on Jan. 17 between 5 and 9 p.m. The group is made up of Grammy-nominated musician Darren Nicholson and two-time national champion banjo player Charles Wood. Their sound is described as "merging traditional Scruggs-style banjo with rhythmic motifs reminiscent of ZZ Top and the Allman Brothers." Learn more about this free event at the link. (Fenway Hotel)
  2. The Dunedin Fine Art Center will present several new winter exhibits opening to the public on Jan. 13. One exhibit, “Christopher Skura: The Beginner’s Mind,” offers a glimpse into the mind of visual artist Christopher Skura. His work is described as a "fascinating blend of organic and mechanical forms reflecting his childhood in Florida and current life living in New York City and upstate New York." A second exhibit titled “SOONOQO: We Become Body in Waves of Light and Sound,” curated by multi-media artist Saudade Toxosi, "reflects the simultaneous act of unfolding and returning to ourselves." A third exhibit titled “Intimacy: Into Me I See” will also open on Jan. 13 and is described as a "revealing show of self-portraits." All exhibits are free to check out and will run through Feb. 26. (Tampa Bay Newspapers)
  3. Traditional Taekwondo Center of Dunedin is hosting Taekwondo in the Courtyard on Jan. 7 between 10 a.m. and noon at the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce. This exhibition event will take place in both the boardroom and courtyard. All ages are invited to attend to learn more about their programs and see what Tae Kwon Do is all about. Some programs they offer include after-school with pickup, day classes, and night classes. Those who are still unsure can try it out for free! (Dunedin Chamber of Commerce)
