- Kids are enjoying a new summer camp offered by Pinellas County Schools, where they get to explore potential careers in architecture, construction, robotics, and welding. Career Exploration is offered to incoming 6th through 9th graders and offers students the opportunity to try out career paths they maybe never would have even considered. It also introduces middle schoolers to programs they can pursue in high school, as the district offers specialty programs in each of these areas. - Ovations Dance Academy of Tampa is offering two opportunities to catch performances of Disney's "The Lion King Jr." on July 29 at Dunedin High School. Get your tickets now for the 11 a.m. or the 3 p.m. showing online at the link for just $15. This coming-of-age tale is perfect for the whole family and features many of your favorite songs, including "The Circle of Life," "I Just Can't Wait to be King," and "Hakuna Matata." - The City of Dunedin recently shared its pledge to be seagrass safe with a new sign posted at the downtown marina. Seagrass offers many benefits to marine life as well as our economy as it provides essential food, habitat, and nursery areas to many fish species, keeping industries like commercial and recreational fishing and nature/wildlife tourism afloat. They also offer nutrients to coral reefs and other sensitive habitats, so the city asks boaters to avoid seagrass beds and utilize navigation channels when on the water. Learn more ways you can help protect seagrass at the link. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
