Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:

  1. Looking to chop down your own Christmas tree this year? While there are only a few places in Florida where this is possible, some are close enough to Dunedin to make the trip. Blue Acres Christmas Tree Farm in Spring Hill allows customers to choose and-cut sand pines and red cedars in addition to other fresh-cut and potted options. The family-owned farm also sells local raw honey, seasoned firewood, and holiday wreaths. Bring the kids this weekend to meet and take photos with Santa! Another option is Ergle Christmas Tree Farm in Dade City. The family-owned farm grows long-needle pine and Southern cedar trees that families can chop down themselves. A third option is Lazy Lay Acres Christmas Tree Farm in Dade City, where you can cut down your own sand pines and red cedars. (Dunedin Patch)
  2. During a swearing in ceremony on Nov. 21, the City of Dunedin Commission welcomed newly-elected Commissioner Robert Walker and re-elected Commissioner Jeff. Gow was first elected to represent seat 4 in 2018 and served as Vice Mayor in 2021. Walker is a new addition to the Commission and will represent seat 2. During the ceremony, they also paid tribute to Vice Mayor Deborah Kynes for her 18 years of public service to the City of Dunedin as a Commissioner. Commission meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month and can be seen live on the City of Dunedin's website, Facebook, and YouTube pages. (Dunedin Patch)
  3. Yoga and Mimosas will be held on Dec. 1 at 6:15 p.m. at The Wild Iris Cafe on Main Street. Hosted by Angelique Dabney and Wicked FIT Corp, the event includes an hour of yoga and two mimosas for $20. This event is ideal for all levels. No registration is required. Simply show up with your yoga mat, water, and a smile! (Wicked FIT Corp via Facebook)

Additionally, the live oak near the restrooms and gazebo will be pruned, which may result in brief closures of the bathrooms and surrounding sidewalks. The rest of the park will remain open. • Former Dunedin High School student, Kate Breaux, performed an incredible solo on the bagpipes with the University of Florida marching band. The performance occurred during a halftime show on Nov. 12, which included a Veteran's Day Tribute. According to the post shared by the Gator Marching Band, "Kate is a second-year Business Administration Major with a specialization in Mass Communication in the UF Warrington College of Business and a minor in English. She has been playing Bagpipes for 9 years, and she started playing in middle school." (Dunedin High School via Facebook)
