Deputy Involved in Dunedin Crash
Breaking: A late Sunday night crash on Main Street and Belcher Road sent a Pinellas County deputy to the hospital.

DUNEDIN, FL — A Pinellas County deputy was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a late Sunday night crash in Dunedin.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Tyler Green was heading east on Main Street in a 2015 marked Chevrolet Tahoe around 11:21 p.m. Sept. 4. Green, an email from the sheriff’s office said, “failed to yield to a red traffic light at the Belcher Road intersection.”
Green entered the intersection and struck a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Karen Garland, 31, the email said. Garland was attempting to make a left turn on a green arrow at the time of the crash, the sheriff’s office noted.

Green was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Garland and her passengers were not injured.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
