Here are the top three stories in Dunedin today:

  1. Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions has scheduled a Meet and Greet event at HOB Brewing on Sunday, June 19 between noon and 2 p.m. Whether you're looking to adopt a dog or not, this is an awesome opportunity to play with some wonderful greyhounds while sipping on your favorite beverage. Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing retired racing greyhounds into qualified, caring, and loving homes. Stop by HOB or check out the organization's website to learn more about their efforts. (Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions via Facebook | Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions)
  2. The first annual Dunedin Pride golf cart parade over the weekend was a huge success! Dunedin Goes Carting kicked off Dunedin Pride Week Saturday evening with an 87-golf-cart parade down Dunedin’s Main Street. According to CL Tampa Bay, "We Are Family blared from the speakers of Michael Reed’s tricked-out golf cart, complete with disco balls and rainbow fringe. Alongside him, city officials, LGBT community members and allies drove golf carts decorated with everything from rainbow flags to flamingoes, unicorns, balloons, leis, and rainbow windsocks." Check out the full article to see photos of some of the decked-out golf carts from the parade! (CL Tampa Bay)
  3. Reminder: Birding Backpacks are still available at the Dunedin Public Library! Your library card gives you access to birding backpacks which contain the equipment, resources, and guides to help you identify birds native to Florida and North America. Each backpack includes a pair of adult binoculars, a pair of child binoculars, two bird guidebooks, instructions, and lens wipes. To put a backpack on hold, call or visit the library's reference desk at (727) 298-3080 x1707. (Dunedin Patch)
