Here are the top three stories in Dunedin today:

  1. Does Dunedin need a performing arts theater? The subject was brought up by representatives of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee during a City Commission discussion on May 17, including Committee Chairwoman Jackie Nigro who stated the city needs a small venue to host poetry readings, shows, music performances, and more. Commissioners expressed enthusiasm for the project and approved this resolution for extending the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee for another three years. (TBN Weekly)
  2. News of a fundraiser to aid a Ukrainian family hosted by Dunedin’s Cueni Brewing Co. is spreading throughout Tampa Bay. The all-day fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, will benefit Ukrainian refugees living in Clearwater with the owners of Dunedin’s Veskolini Café. Their goal is to raise enough money for the family to put a down payment on a car and purchase other necessities. (Tampa Bay Newspapers)
  3. Are your kids baseball fans? The Dunedin Blue Jays are hosting a free clinic for kids between 5 and 12 at TD Ballpark. The clinic will be held on Sunday, June 12 with check-in beginning at 9 a.m. Kids who attend receive an hour of instruction from Dunedin Blue Jays and Dunedin High School players and coaches, a free Franklin baseball and bat set, free access to MLB/MiLB TV for the rest of the 2022 season, and a ticket to the Dunedin Blue Jays game vs. Lakeland Flying Tigers later that same day. Register online to save your spot. (Dunedin Blue Jays)
