Dunedin Parks & Rec To Offer Okinawan Family Karate

This new program will be held at the MLK Jr. Recreation Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

DUNEDIN, FL — Dunedin Parks & Recreation will offer a new Okinawan Family Karate program at the MLK, Jr. Recreation Center, 550 Laura Ave.

This class teaches the ancient art of Karate as it has been taught in Okinawa. This family-friendly program for age 6 and up promotes fitness and self-discipline through karate and grappling techniques. Students will work together and focus on the fundamentals, practice the stances, blocks and strikes, while learning how to use various training equipment.

Get fit, build confidence and self discipline. Students will focus on the fundamentals, practicing the stances, blocks and strikes while learning how to use various training equipment. You don't need to have any previous karate experience, and you'll progress at your own pace. Effective self defense for ages 14+ and ability levels. Highly qualified instructor with over 37 years of training.

The classes are taught by a qualified instructor with more than 37 years of experience.

Classes for age 6 and up will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6 p.m.

Classes for age 14 and up will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The cost is $75 a month with a recreation card and $100 without.
