Dunedin Resident Dies While Vacationing In New York

DUNEDIN, FL — Robert Bruce Cameron of Dunedin passed away on Saturday, Oct. 9 in Albany, New York, while on vacation with his best friend, Lisa Godfrey.

Bob’s friendliness, positive attitude and knowledge on various subjects will be missed. Bob loved to travel, and each summer would visit family and friends in New York state, as well as his children in Chicago and Cleveland, Ohio.

Born on February 15, 1947, to John and Zoe Cameron, Bob was the second of three sons and grew up in Auburn, New York. Prior to college, Bob attended Carson Long Military Academy in Pennsylvania, and after college, married Donna Deutschman, also an Auburn native.

Bob spent most of his adult life in Buffalo, New York, and Washington, D.C., before retiring to Florida. He was an avid Scottish dancer and member of the Saint Andrew’s Society.

Bob is survived by his three children, Kristy (Craig Harzewski), Robert “Rob” Bruce Cameron II, and Scott (Laura), and his younger brother David (Lisa).
