Life & Light Lantern Parade & Festival

This inaugural, two-day Earth Day festival features free paper lantern-making workshops, live music and gardening and sustainability demonstrations.

Paper lantern workshops are taught by professional lantern makers, the Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons of Atlanta, GA. Workshop participants get to use their lanterns in Sunday's Parade of Light starting at 8 p.m.

Raffles, donations and profits from meal sales at , and benefit two organic food projects in Dunedin:

  • A free, organic gardening workshop called “Planting Seeds,” which offers ongoing sustainable living educational opportunities to the public; and
  • Sustainable living initiative called the 1-percent Food Project, which encourages Dunedin households to pledge a small part of their land and time toward growing food.

Both are Dunedin Harvest Food & Garden Co-op initiatives.

Events on Saturday run from 2 to 7 p.m.; Events on Sunday run from noon to 8:30 p.m., with the parade starting at 8 p.m.
