Exhibits Dunedin Fine Art Center Invite Residents to See, Feel, Touch

DUNEDIN, FL — "See Me, Feel Me, Touch Me," the Dunedin Fine Art Center's summer exhibits, will be on display through July 1 at the center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin.

The exhibits will offer a multimedia experience with powerful sculptures by Thomas Anderson III, provocative mixed media works and installations of Vickie Pierre, visual interpretations of works and words from "The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows," and the kaleidoscopic spectrum of the Colored Pencil Society of America’s International Exhibition.

• "Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows" is inspired by the legendary online book of imaginary words by John Koenig (now available in book form). Artists are invited to illustrate a word from the "Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows" or invent their own to translate into visual form. View the online archive of words here. • A solo exhibition of Tarpon Springs-based sculptor Thomas Anderson III, whose powerful portraits in stone and wood reflect the visions and reality of an African American man, will be on display June 10 to Aug. 14 in the Entel Family Gallery.
• A solo exhibition of works by Florida-based multimedia artist of Haitian heritage and rising acclaim Vickie Pierre, whose creative process is informed and inspired by memory, fantasy, surrealism, popular culture and the decorative and ornamental arts, will be on display July 11 to Aug. 13 at the Meta B. Brown + John and Pat Rossi Galleries.
• The Colored Pencil Society of America International Exhibition is an annual exhibition of the best colored pencil artists working today coinciding with the CPSA convention. Works from DFAC’s award-winning faculty will also be featured in DFAC’s second-floor teaching gallery from through Dec. 23 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
