5 Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Dunedin Patch offers five things that will bring a smile to any man's face this Father's Day.

While Mother’s Day might get more fanfare, everyone knows fathers are just as important as their counterparts in the grand scheme of things. 

Although dads don’t necessarily want to be wined and dined or showered with flowers, they still enjoy a thoughtful gift or two in addition to not having to mow the lawn for a day. 

With that in mind, Dunedin Patch came up with five terrific Father’s Day gift ideas to give to that special dad in your life.

1. Golf gift certificates. Dunedin is full of golfers, so what better way to say happy Father’s Day than with a gift certificate to an area club or pro shop? The and are both quality facilities that offer a variety of services, and the Pro Shop at the Golf Club has everything an amateur duffer could need to improve his game.

2. Dunedin Blue Jays tickets. A trip to a D-Jays game is a great way to please the baseball-loving dad. The prices are cheap, the is fun, and the team is in first place this season. Add awesome Canadian beer and a picturesque Florida day (or evening), and Dad is sure to go home happy, regardless of the outcome. (Note: The D-Jays are not playing at home on Father’s Day, but will be back in town the following Sunday.)

3. Fishing gear. With a pair of big-time fishing stores, and the , in the area, you’ll be able to fulfill any of your favorite angler’s needs. Then you can send them to the Dunedin Causeway, Honeymoon Island or Caladesi Island and let the men catch their own Father’s Day dinner.

4. Bikes. A new bike, or a tune-up of his old cycle, from or would definitely please any outdoorsy dad. Then you and the family can join him for a trip around town via the Pinellas Trail.

5. Beer. What would a Dunedin dad's gift list be without beer? Get him a gift certificate to any of the area brewhouses, such as the , or , or take Dad out for a few cold ones at any of the local establishments that serve brews, which is pretty much every place.
