  1. The St. Pete Clearwater Film Commission will present the fourth annual Dunedin International Film Festival this year between January 13 and 16. This year’s festival theme is Global to Local and will include 76 films chosen from 16 countries spanning all genres of drama, comedy, horror, science fiction, and documentary. The festival will begin January 13 with films being shown at HOB Brewing Co. and the Fenway Hotel. Opening day will include live entertainment as well as award-nominated films. Tickets start at $10 with virtual options available for most of the films. (TBN Weekly)
  2. Dunedin Studio Art Gallery is hosting an opening reception for a new exhibit titled Over the Edge. It will be held on Sunday, January 9 at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to attend, enjoy light refreshments, and have the opportunity to speak with some of the featured artists. This exhibit will run through February 20. (Studio 1212)
  3. Pinellas County Superintendent Mike Grego will retire from his position on July 1, ending his 42-year career in public education. In a video, Grego announced his decision while highlighting his accomplishments over the years including an improved graduation rate, the elimination of all F-rated schools, renovations, and more. Grego gave a heartfelt goodbye to the district saying, “This was not an easy decision for me. But as in all great relay races, it is time for me to pass the baton. While I will enjoy spending more time with my family, I will sincerely miss my Pinellas County Schools family." (Florida Politics)
