Tell us about your star student's accomplishments and why they deserve to be recognized on Patch!
In today's world it's so hard for children to stay focused and do great things with so much negativity around you. The amount of peer pressure to fit in with others just to be comfortable and connected to others is overwhelming to this younger generation. But Jayla has been navigating through so many things as a young woman and has strived really hard academically and will be graduating this year from Tarpon Springs High.
She has obtained a scholarship from the Take Stock In Children organization. She has been a star player with the girls Flag football team for four years, she's an active volunteer with her mom's non for profit organization A Mothers Arms as well as a participant in the teen program. She helps with preparing and passing out food to the homeless, and she holds down a job so she can independently care for herself. She's a great example of a child who is building her own foundation to become everything and anything she wants to be through dedication, commitment, and hard work.
What three words best describe your star student?
