Here are the top stories today in Dunedin:
- The City of Dunedin has released a storm debris update. As of Oct. 3, the Solid Waste Division is on schedule, according to Monday’s route. Residents should expect collection delays due to heavy volumes. Don't forget, those with smaller debris such as leaves, grass clippings, and small twigs are reminded to use strong plastic bags or 32-gallon cans. Stage piles of tree branches within 10 feet from the curb, not under powerlines, and away from planted trees and other structures, such as mailboxes. The Recycling Center remains closed until further notice. The city hopes to have it open by Friday. (Dunedin Gov)
- Looking for a pumpkin patch near Dunedin? Klausmeyer Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Clearwater is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. except for Saturdays when it's open until 10 p.m. In addition to a pumpkin patch, families can enjoy a petting zoo, zombie paintball, a 5-acre maze, a haunted barn, and various other attractions. DK Farms & Nursery Fall Festival in Largo is open Oct. 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, and 29. In addition to the pumpkin patch, the festival offers pony and bull rides, scenic hayrides, bounce houses, mini golf, a train ride, craft and food vendors, and more. Finally, the Pumpkin Patch at St. Pete Pier is open Oct. 8-16 between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. More than 5,000 pumpkins will be set up in a traditional pumpkin patch under the Bending Arc net structure for you to choose from. (Dunedin Patch)
- The Hi-Fi Rooftop Bar in Fenway Hotel is participating in “Raising the Roof for Hurricane Ian Relief” on Thursday, Oct. 6 between 4 and 10 p.m. The bar will be donating 50 percent of all sales from the night to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida in support of those impacted by the storm. Other participating bars include EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge in Tampa, Vantage Rooftop Bar in Clearwater, and the Skybox Rooftop Bar in Tampa. (That's So Tampa)

- Pinellas County Animal Services thanks all of their volunteers who stepped up and fostered a dog as they made preparations for Hurricane Ian. In honor of National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, be sure to visit the Pinellas County Animal Services shelter in Largo to bring home one of the 50 adorable pups waiting to meet their forever families. (Pinellas County Animal Services via Facebook)
- Honeymoon Island is recruiting volunteers to operate toll booth registers. Volunteers will collect park entrance fees, check annual passes, and welcome visitors to the island. An info session and a brief training will be held on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. in the Nature Center. All who are interested in this opportunity are welcome to attend. (Friends of the Island Parks via Facebook)
- Mangos & Marley is teaming up with Master Restoration to take emergency supplies down south to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian. They will be collecting donations this week during business hours. They are looking for Gatorade, water, nonperishable food, tarps, gas cans, pet food, medical supplies, diapers, blankets, and more.
