Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:
- Studio 1212 has announced the opening of a new exhibit in October titled "I Love Squares," which will be on display between Oct. 2 and Nov. 6. An opening reception for the new exhibit will be held on Oct. 2 between 1 and 4 p.m. at the Studio 1212 Art Gallery. Those who attend will have an opportunity to meet the 28 local award-winning artists who will be featured in the exhibit. The event will include live music and light refreshments. Learn more about the exhibit on their website. (Studio 1212 Art Gallery)
- The City of Dunedin Solid Waste Division has resumed normal trash collection. They will be tending to both Wednesday and Thursday route customers on Sept. 30, and Friday route customers on Oct. 1. To assist with manual collections residents are asked to use strong plastic bags or 32-gallon cans for all hurricane debris. Additionally, make sure to stage larger tree branches within 10 feet of the curb. Do not place containers or branches near or on top of a water meter vault, mailbox, or fire hydrant. Sandbags cannot be disposed of with regular trash. (Dunedin Gov)
- The Florida Gas Tax holiday starts Oct. 1! This monthlong tax break will give residents $0.25 off per gallon when they fill up on gas. While this tax holiday was planned before Hurricane Ian, for many it comes at a time when it's most needed. Floridians can receive this deal through Oct. 31. (WFLA)
