July 4th Fireworks 2023 Around Dunedin

DUNEDIN, FL — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that grill and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on in and around Dunedin for 2023.

Dunedin Hometown USA

Celebrate America during Hometown USA in Dunedin on Monday, July 3 at TD Ballpark, 373 Douglas Ave., Dunedin, presented by Dunedin Parks & Recreation. Gates will open at 7 p.m.

The live band, Modern Measure Band, will play in the third base concourse area from 7 to 9:15 p.m. and the Bay Kings Band will play from 9:40 to 10:45 p.m. Seating is limited.

The movie, "Field of Dreams," will be shown at 7:15 p.m.

The fireworks display will begin at about 9:15 p.m.

Grand stand seating will be open to watch the movie and the fireworks show. There will be no field access.

This event is free to attend and concessions will be available.

Free limited parking will be available at TD Ballpark, the Dunedin Public Library and the Hale Senior Activity Center.

Patriotic Golf Cart Parade

Dunedin Goes Carting will present a patriotic golf cart parade Monday, July 3 with staging at 5 p.m. and the parade at 6:15 p.m.

Show off red, white, and blue-decorated golf carts during Dunedin’s Hometown USA Independence Day celebration. The parade route begins at the parking lot on New York Avenue and Virginia Street and will go through Mease Manor, downtown and to TD Ballpark where the Hometown USA Celebration will take place. Carts will continue through TD Ballpark, across the street to the VFW and Hale Activity Center lots where reserved golf cart parking is located (see the map).

Dunedin Kiwanis Midnight Run

The Dunedin Kiwanis Midnight Run 2023 live and virtual events will take place on Monday, July 3.

The live races will start and finish in front of Frenchy's Outpost Bar and Grill, 466 Causeway Blvd. The races will take place on the Dunedin Causeway. The 10K run turns around in Honeymoon Island.

The course will have lanterns and directional signs, but runners should bring their own head light to improve visibility on the bridges. Bug spray is also suggested.

Preregistration and race night registration will begin at 9:30 p.m .

The live 1-mile event will take place from 11:15 to 11:45 p.m. The live 5K will be run from 11:40 p.m. to 2 a.m. And the live 10K will take place from midnight to 3 a.m.

There are no age divisions for the 1-mile run. The top five males and top five females will receive a commemorative certificate.

The 5K and 10K top three male and top three female winners in each age division will receive a commemorative certificate as well.

Age categories for the 5K start at age 9 and under and go up to age 70 and older. Age categories for the 10K start at age 13 and under and go up to age 70 and over.

Overall male and female winners of the 5K and 10K male and female will receive a prize along with a framed certificate. Participants also will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

Virtual runners can register with RaceJoy through 11:59 p.m. July 3.

Race packet pick-up will take place Saturday, July 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Boy Scout Hut, 925 Louden Ave. in Dunedin (north of Main Street and west of the Milwaukee Avenue extension) and on race day starting at 4:30 p.m. east of Frenchy's Stone Crab & Seafood Market, 501 Causeway Blvd.

Proceeds will go to Dunedin Cares Inc. Food Pantry.

After The 4th Honeymoon Island Cleanup

Join Keep Pinellas Beautiful and help clean up Honeymoon Island after the Fourth of July festivities on Wednesday, July 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at Honeymoon Island State Park, 1 Causeway Blvd., Dunedin.

All cleanup supplies will be provided including reusable gloves, trash bags, trash pickers, sunscreen, hand sanitizer and bug spray. A water refill station will be available, so bring a reusable bottle. Restrooms are available on site.

Parking fees will be waived for volunteers but carpooling is encouraged.
