Man Crashes Pickup Into Barber Shop

Carey James Hickman of Dunedin crashed his pickup into a barber shop Tuesday afternoon was found to be drinking, Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies report.

A Dunedin man who crashed through the wall of a barber shop on Patricia Avenue Tuesday afternoon had been drinking, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reports.

Carey James Hickman, 41, of Virginia Street, was charged with a DUI on Tuesday after he went careening in his 2003 Ford F-150 east on Beltrees Street, crossed onto Patricia Avenue, into the Dunedin Lanes parking lot, and then, crashed through the concrete wall of a barber shop at 463 Patricia Avenue at about 5:42 p.m., deputies report.

The owner of the barber shop was outside the building at the time, and actually witnessed the incident. No injuries were reported. 

Hickman reportedly declined medical treatment and was taken to Pinellas County Jail.
