Here are the top three stories today in Dunedin:

  1. The House of Mercy & Encouragement Foundation is holding a Help, Hope, & Healing mental health conference on September 17 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Dunedin. Speakers at the event will include professional physicians, nurses, teachers, therapists, psychologists, and more. There will also be exhibitor tables set up with special resources on mental health and wellness in the community. The event will cover a variety of conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief and autism. Tickets are available online and are $25 for adults and $15 for teens. (Newsbreak)
  2. Dunedin City Manager Jennifer Bramley revealed the results of the city's 2022 Citizen Satisfaction Survey residents were asked to take earlier this year. Overall, the city received a satisfaction rating of 93.6 percent. Among all city services, satisfaction was top rated amongst fire, EMS, the Dunedin public library, Parks and Recreation and Solid Waste and Recycling. A few areas where the city showed marked improvements were business opportunities at 85.3 percent, communications at 84.1 percent, and public transportation at 72 percent. The city continues to work diligently to improve these aspects by supporting local businesses, providing more direct and useful public information, and offering alternative means of transportation. Watch the full video to learn more about the survey results. (Dunedin Patch | YouTube)
  3. A casino-themed luncheon is scheduled for August 17 at noon in the Hale Senior Activity Center. Put your betting hats on and try your luck at blackjack, craps, horse, or even roulette! The games are purely for fun using fake money only. No real money or gambling services of any kind is offered or provided. Those interested must register for the event by August 12 either in person at the activity center or online. (Dunedin Patch)
