Pinellas County Environmental Specialist Kailey Travis is hosting a free seminar on mosquitos at the Hale Senior Activity Center on July 18 at 10 a.m. Attendees will learn what Pinellas County is doing to control the area's mosquito population and what you can do around your home to help. The seminar will also discuss mosquito-borne illnesses, mosquito biology, and what causes too many mosquitos. (Dunedin Gov)
2. The Hale Senior Activity Center is hosting a painting party for those 40+ on July 21 between noon and 2 p.m. Learn to paint flamingos using acrylic paint by Caroline Brown, the founder of the Incredible Me Institute Inc. Art Club. Those interested must register before July 19 and bring a canvas 16 inches by 20 inches or smaller. (Dunedin Gov)
3. Suncoast Animal League is hosting its 12th Annual Bowlin’ with Buster N’ Chester Event on July 22 at 5 p.m. at Dunedin Lanes. Get your closest friends together to create a team of four or five bowlers for a chance to win prizes. The cost is $25 per player, which includes three games, shoe rentals, and access to house bowling balls. Those interested can fill out the registration form at the link. (Suncoast Animal League)
