  • We all know Dunedin is a great place to visit. And we love it when our friends and family come to town. We just don't always want them to actually stay in our homes. But how do we get that across without sounding, you know, a little rude…?
Here's an idea: strongly suggest they stay at the Mai Tai Suites. Owners John and Karen Bickford offer fully furnished 850-square-foot 2-bed, 1-bath suites for less than the price of a hotel.
Mai Tai Suites is located off the Dunedin Causeway and is surrounded by St. Joseph's Sound. It's convenient to Clearwater Beach and Downtown Dunedin. It's also dog-friendly (with no pet fee) and offers a free guest pass to nearby Honeymoon Island State Park.
Invite all your friends and family to visit Dunedin — and tell them to book their rooms at Mai Tai Suites today.

Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:

  1. The Dunedin Fine Arts Center is celebrating Creative Pinellas' Art'n Month with a new initiative to showcase the county as a hotbed for the arts. Three upcoming shows will depict architecture in different ways, including one that will depict the story of how Dunedin couple Carol Sackman and Blake White spent more than 20 years covering their home in mosaics. The show called “Carol Sackman + Blake White: The Mosaic House of Dunedin" is showing now through Dec. 23. A second show titled "We Built this City" will explore the connection between art and music while a third titled "Rust to Rust: Janos Enyedi and the Architecture of Industry" portrays the architecture of industry. (CL Tampa Bay)
  2. A new movie will be filming in downtown Dunedin and Clearwater titled "The Uncivil War." The film will star Daniel Roebuck who recently portrayed The Count in Rob Zombie's reboot of "The Munsters." According to the press release, the movie "follows the lives of two best friends, one white and one black, who have never discussed politics before. But all of that changes in the summer of 2020 when COVID-19 shuts down the world and George Floyd dies." The controversial film is expected to make waves when it's released. This movie is going to shock people and make most cheer," Roebuck said. "One thing’s for sure, no one who walks out of this movie will leave without an opinion.” (Newswires)
  3. The National Hurricane Center has placed Dunedin and most of Pinellas County in the five-day cone of uncertainty for the approach of Subtropical Storm Nicole. To prepare for the storm Pinellas County is monitoring the storm and preparing our stormwater drainage system to reduce the risk of flooding. The county suggests that residents prepare as well and secure all outdoor furniture or anything else that can be picked up by the wind, clean up all piles of branches, and if they live in a flood zone, move vehicles to higher ground. • The City of Dunedin reminds residents that leaf season is here, which means leaf litter is on our streets and can release excess nutrients into stormwater and local waterbodies. Fortunately, the city has a proactive approach to removing leaf litter from stormwater systems before it reaches a local waterbody. To help protect the city's stormwater resources, be sure to blow grass clippings, sand, and leaves back into your yard instead of the street. Also, rake, bag, and properly dispose of yard debris into the trash. You may even want to consider composting your leaf litter. Learn more on the city's website. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
  • In honor of Drowsy Driving Prevention Week, the City of Dunedin has started a campaign to reduce the number of drivers who drive while sleep deprived. Drowsy driving is responsible for more than 6,400 U.S. deaths annually and is often caused by people who voluntarily don't get enough sleep. Learn more about sleep deprivation here. • Looking to do something special for a veteran in honor of Veteran's Day? Buy them a coffee or sandwich by sending money to The Jungle Dunedin through Venmo (@thejunglenutrition). They'll use donations to treat vets to shakes, smoothies, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches on Friday, Nov. 11! (The Jungle Dunedin via Facebook)
