Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:
- Local muralist Tom Stovall was recently honored for completing a large-scale mural on the Curlew Water Tower in Dunedin featuring Henry the gopher tortoise and Sylvia the sea turtle. The 1-million-gallon water tower was in need of maintenance and repairs, so the city took the opportunity to include a public art project in its plan. Stovall graduated from UCLA Film School and spent his career as an actor, director, and producer for television, film, and stage productions. He's also a classically trained pianist and ballet dancer but has made a name for himself in Pinellas County as a muralist. His artwork appears on the Crescent Lake Water Tower, the Seminole Water Tower, and on two water treatment tanks in St. Petersburg. (Dunedin Patch)
- The First United Methodist Church of Dunedin is holding a Trunk to Treasure sale on March 25 between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Stop by to browse new and slightly used home goods, collectibles, artwork plants, books, jewelry, pottery, and more. Vendors will sell items from their cars in the church's parking lot, which will only be open to foot traffic. (Dunedin Patch)
- The Senior Actors Guild & Education Services is holding a one-act play titled "Phoney Baloney" on April 15 at 2 p.m. in The Conmy Center. Portrayed by the talented senior cast of SAGE, this free play is a humorous portrayal of how to prevent scammers from targeting you or your loved ones. After the hour-long play, attendees can ask questions about scammers during a 30-minute Q&A session. Email playswithpurpose@sagestheater.org to reserve your seat today! (SAGES Theater)
