New York Mets Draft Dunedin High Shortstop

Casey Turgeon played shortstop for Dunedin.

The New York Mets selected a graduate in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday.

Shortstop Casey Turgeon, 18, was the 672nd overall pick in the 22nd round of the draft.

The 5-foot-10-inch, 155-pound, left-handed batter is Dunedin High's all-time hit leader.

Turgeon is committed to the University of Florida.
