North County Reclaimed Water Restricted To 1 Day Per Week

The new restrictions were made due to excessive demand and continued dry weather.

DUNEDIN, FL – Some Pinellas County residents will be further restricted in their use of reclaimed water starting this week.

Pinellas County Utilities is implementing additional mandatory reclaimed water restrictions for North County customers in response to continued dry weather and increased customer usage. The excessive demand has exhausted the operational supply of reclaimed water in storage.

Beginning Wednesday, April 19, North County reclaimed water customers who reside north of Curlew Road are restricted to watering once per week based on house address according to the following schedule:

  • Addresses ending in an odd number may irrigate on Wednesday
  • Addresses ending in an even number may irrigate on Saturday
  • Mixed address or no address properties, such as common areas, may irrigate on Wednesday
  • Watering is prohibited between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The North County reclaimed water system will be temporarily shut down on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Pinellas County Utilities has requested cooperation from its customers in irrigating only on their authorized day to prevent additional outages and shutdowns.

The one-day-per-week schedule for North County customers is expected to remain in effect until seasonal rainfall resumes in the service area. Additional outages may occur during operating hours due to excessive demand on the system.

According to Pinellas County Utilities, the additional measures will allow the system to slowly restore normal operating levels while providing sufficient volume of reclaimed water to meet lawn irrigation needs and maintain adequate system pressure for all affected customers.
