One Osprey Chick Survives from OspreyCam Nest
The only surviving osprey chick from the nest under DunedinOspreyCam.org watch is now a "healthy, robust" fledgling, says Sparky Jones, a spokeswoman for the website.
Out of three eggs and two hatchlings, only one osprey chick has survived to fledglinghood.
Sparky Jones, DunedinOspreyCam.org spokeswoman, sent this update to nest followers in a May 16 email:

The DunedinOspreyCam couple laid three eggs this year, one of which did not hatch. One of the two chicks that did hatch did not survive. Fortunately, the one surviving chick is robust and thriving quite well. He is being well fed and is exercising his wings each day in preparation for fledging soon.
She also expressed excitement for viewing and sound improvements planned for next year, inlcuding a microphone.

The Osprey Cam project is a privately-funded project that began in 2007 and came to fruition with the help of the Parks & Recreation Department.
