Here are the top three stories today in Dunedin:

  1. Sean Ferraro's Pizza Skiff has become an instant hit on the waters surrounding Caladesi Island. Owner of Madison Avenue Pizza in Dunedin, Ferraro now delivers fresh pizzas to islands, sandbars and boats in Tampa Bay for just $20 per pie. He uses a special onboard heated container to ensure pizzas stay hot from the time they leave the pizzeria to the moment sunbathers and boaters get their hands on them. To get one of these pizzas, wave down the Pizza Skiff (recognized by its flags) or you can message them on Instagram to get their schedule. (ABC Action News | Pizza Skiff Instagram)
  2. Dunedin Parks & Recreation is hosting a pool party on June 25 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Bring the family to Highlander Pool for games, contests, raffles, relay races, and more! Relax by the pool to the tunes of a local DJ. Those who donate a non-perishable food item will be entered for a chance to win a prize. Additionally, concessions will be available for purchase from Kona Ice and Westchase BBQ. Tickets are $3 per person, and kids under two years old are free. (Dunedin Gov)
  3. Annual summer fertilizer restrictions are now in effect in Dunedin until September 30. According to the Pinellas County Fertilizer Ordinance, lawn and landscape fertilizers with nitrogen and/or phosphorous are prohibited in order to protect Pinellas County waters from harmful algae blooms. The purpose of this local ordinance is to control excessive or improper use of fertilizers on landscapes, which wind up in our waters, ultimately killing fish and generating algae.
