- The Professional Association of Visual Artists 2022 Annual Members' Awards Exhibit returns March 2 at The Cool Art Shop on County Road 1 in Dunedin. It will showcase the artwork of PAVA's award-winning professional artists in a variety of mediums, including paint, pastel, wood, ceramics, photography, metal, glass, fiber, digital, mixed media, and jewelry. PAVA Awards will be presented during a public reception on March 9 between 6:00 and 7:30 PM. All of the pieces will be available for sale until the exhibit ends on April 1. - Dunedin Parks & Rec has announced this year's scheduled Easter events. On April 7, the city will host "My Kind of Bunny" for kids ages one to eight with special needs. The sensory-friendly event will include an Easter Bunny, arts and crafts, dinner, and an outdoor egg hunt. It will be held in the Dunedin Community Center at 6:00 PM. Advanced registration is required.
A "Bunny Brunch" for kids between one and four years old will be held on April 9 at 9:00 AM in the Dunedin Community Center. In addition to brunch, the event will include arts and crafts, games, an egg hunt, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. A "Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt" for kids between four and ten is scheduled for April 9 at 6:30 PM at the MLK, Jr. Recreation Center. Bring your flashlight and basket to this "egg-citing" family event to partake in games, crafts, hot dogs, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. (Dunedin Patch) - Duke Energy Florida recently completed its Park & Plug pilot program, installing 627 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in public spaces and on thoroughfares in Florida. One of these fast EV chargers was conveniently installed along the U.S. 19/98 Corridor at Dunedin. The program was launched in 2018 to expand access to EV charging stations as part of an agreement with the Florida Public Service Commission. - Dunedin's annual Arbor Day Tree Give-Away is scheduled for April 9 at 8:00 AM at Achieva Credit Union Corporate Headquarters. Dunedin residents with proof of residency will receive two three-gallon trees, while supplies last. This is a contact-less drive-through event, so attendees will remain in their vehicles. The city will be giving away various types of trees, including American Elm, Bald Cypress, Black Tupelo, Crape Myrtle, Red Cedar, and Southern Live Oak. - The Dunedin High School NJROTC Orienteering Team took home two trophies over the weekend at the Suncoast Score Championships. The varsity team took first place and the school finished third overall. The team was led by Mason Lotempio who placed first out of 50 runners and Brett Barrows who came in second. Dunedin now has three students ranked in the top 10 runners in the State of Florida: Mason Lotempio, Lukas Lange, and Brett Barrows. (Facebook)
- HOB is looking for volunteers to assist at the 12th Annual Music & Craft Beer Festival 2022 on March 4 and 5. The free event will feature local craft beers and live music in downtown Dunedin. Those interested can sign up online. (Volunteer Signup)
- In a new video, the Dunedin Parks and Recreation Director Vince Gizzi guides viewers through the Gladys Douglas Preserve, its history, and the updates that are coming soon.
