  1. PAVA is holding an opening reception for its new exhibit on May 5 between 6 and 8 p.m. in The Cool Art Shop. The Photographs and Memories Exhibit will offer an array of photographs in both color and black and white from locally and nationally acclaimed PAVA members. Additionally, 3D work aligned with “making memories” will be showcased in various mediums in the exhibit, including jewelry, metal, and pottery. Stop by to check out the exhibit during the reception or during normal hours, Thursdays through Saturdays, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (Dunedin Patch)
  2. Are you looking for something special to do this Mother's Day? Make reservations at one of Dunedin's local restaurants offering special menus on May 14! HEW Parlor & Chophouse at the Fenway Hotel is offering a special Mother's Day family-style brunch, while Bon Appetit is preparing a special Mother's Day buffet in the Sunset Ballroom. Check out some of your options at the link and be sure to make your reservations early! (Dunedin Patch)
  3. Dunedin fire officials responded to a fire at Coastal Christian Church on Bayshore Boulevard just after 3 a.m. early Wednesday morning. No one was injured, but the roof and sanctuary were severely damaged by the flames. The church is home to Sweet Peas Preschool, which experienced water damage. Reports predict that items sold in the church's thrift store will need to be thrown out due to smoke damage. Dunedin Deputy Fire Chief Michael Handoga explained the fire started in a dumpster before spreading to the church. The cause of the fire is now under investigation. (ABC Action News)
