Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:

  1. The City of Dunedin is holding a Public Art recognition ceremony for the Curlew Water Tower mural titled, "Henry and Sylvia" by artist Tom Stovall. Everyone is invited to attend on March 20 at 9 a.m. at The Dunedin Golf Club. No RSVP is necessary! Simply stop by to enjoy the ceremony and maybe meet the artist. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
  2. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis released a book on Wednesday, which earned the number one spot on Amazon’s bestseller list the same day. "The Courage to Be Free: Florida’s Blueprint for America’s Revival” describes DeSantis’ childhood growing up in Dunedin, his time in college, serving in the military, and his transition into politics. The book is described as "a firsthand account from the blue-collar boy who grew up to take on Disney and Dr. Fauci." You can read the full description here. This is his second book. (Tampa FP)
  3. The City of Dunedin featured the Gladys E. Douglas Preserve in its latest episode of Dunedin Spotlight. The Director of Parks and Recreation Vince Gizzi describes some of the major highlights now open to the public and explains what we can expect during phase two. He also provides some interesting history on Gladys E. Douglas, who originally owned the property. According to the city's post, "Some of her life’s greatest joy came from listening to the birds fly over the pine scrub and looking out over the lake bordering the home where she lived for 50 years."
