  3. Since retiring, Dunedin resident John Yanchoris has spent much of his time flying a drone from the Dunedin Causeway. “It’s a very peaceful hobby recording nature,” he told ABC Action News. While he often catches glimpses of sharks off our shores, this past weekend, Yanchoris and his nephew were surprised to by a large hammerhead shark in the water. According to Eric Hovland, an associate curator at The Florida Aquarium who is better known as “The Shark Guy,” the shark is known as a great hammerhead as it can grow up to 19 feet long. Hovland gauged that the shark Yanchoris caught on video is likely approaching adulthood and is between eight and nine feet long! You can check out the video at the link. (ABC Action News)
