Here are the top 3 stories today in Dunedin:

  1. After a dry spring, the City of Dunedin is experiencing a reclaimed water shortage. The city's reclaimed water is a product of treated wastewater collected from homes and businesses in the area. Wastewater flows from sewer mains and pumping stations to the Wastewater Treatment Facility, where it is treated to be used for landscaping. Due to the shortage, reclaimed water will be unavailable until the city tanks are back to normal operating, which will likely happen after a good rainfall or two in the upcoming weeks. The city will post updates here as they occur. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
  2. If your child between 7 and 12 years old is looking for a traditional summer camp, register them now for the city's Hammock Wilderness Camp! Considered "a long-standing Dunedin tradition," this outdoor camp offers kids a traditional summer camp experience in Hammock Park. Kids will participate in a ton of educational games and activities such as drum circles, archery, swimming, crafts, animal tracking, canoeing, fire building, campfire songs, hiking, and environmental education. Hammock Wilderness Camp is broken up into four sessions between June 5 and July 28. Each session is two weeks long, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Register for this camp and many others offered by the city here. (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
  3. Dunedin Showcase Theater will present "The Best Laid Plans" on April 28 and April 29 at 7:30 p.m. and April 30 at 3 p.m. at the Dunedin Community Center. Additional performances are scheduled for May 4 through May 6 at 7:30 p.m. The event describes the show as an "unusual comedy farce" starring "Ada Westbrook, an elderly Ian Fleming type author, who is called upon to act as a liaison between our government and enemy powers." Chaos ensues after a spy dies in Ada's house while carrying secret plans that every government is after. Tickets are just $15 and can be purchased in advance online. (WFLA)
