Here are the top stories today in Dunedin:

  1. With Spring Break coming up, the red tide has visitors and businesses concerned about how its effects. According to WUSF News, the latest reports from state environmental officials show the algal bloom has drifted just south of Clearwater Beach and winds from the south will likely continue pushing it further up the Pinellas coast. Red tide doesn't usually appear this time of the year, and visitors have been caught off guard. "We are standing by to ramp up and bring in some heavy equipment," said Tony Fabrizio, public relations coordinator with Pinellas County. "We're not at that point yet, but we are prepared in the event that that were to occur." Updates on red tide in our area can be found here. (WUSF News)
  2. Remember the film "A Taste of Love," which was filmed in Dunedin in 2021? It will premiere on April 27 at the Sunscreen Film Festival in St. Petersburg. “Our entire community has been anticipating the premier opening of 'A Taste of Love' since it was filmed in Dunedin,” said Mayor Julie Ward Buljaski. “Our business community and our residents welcomed the production team, cast, and crew to Dunedin especially knowing the movie will feature the City of Dunedin as the actual location, and the real names of local places, including our beloved downtown, Sea Sea Riders and the Wild Iris Café.” The movie's stars, Erin Cahill, Jesse Kove, and Martin Cove will attend the premiere. 3. Join the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce for tours of the local art scene on March 25 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Studio Waltz's "Artists' Studio Tour & Sale" offers tours of the workshop or studio of eight local artists at six different locations.
