Here are the top 3 stories in Dunedin today:
- The City of Dunedin Committee of Aging has opened nominations for this year's Senior Hall of Fame. Each year, older residents who contribute to the community are selected from nominations to be honored by the city and inducted into the Hall of Fame. To qualify, nominees must be 75 or older, be a Dunedin resident for at least 10 years, and actively work to serve the community. Nominees can be both individuals and couples. To nominate someone you know, simply fill out the form at the link. (Dunedin Gov)
- The Dunedin Public Library is hosting Candy Heart Bingo on Feb. 11 between 11 a.m. and noon. Led by Miss Jennifer, the event is ideal for kids, teens, and families. Participants will cover their bingo cards with classic candy hearts for the chance to win a prize. (Dunedin Library)
- Great Decisions, an 8-week discussion program, is back at the Dunedin Public Library, kicking off the spring session on Feb. 13 between noon and 2 p.m. The program is described as "America's largest discussion program on world affairs, developed and produced by the Foreign Policy Association." A new topic is discussed each week, and participants receive a topic book to better prepare them for each meeting. The first topic is Energy Geopolitics, followed by War Crimes, China and the U.S., and Economic Warfare. Stop by the library Reference Desk for more information. (Dunedin Library)

- The City of Dunedin is preparing for the summer season with open positions in its parks and recreation department. They're currently hiring lifeguards 16 years old and up to work at Highlander Pool. The city is also looking for recreation leaders willing to assist with summer camps and child care programs. (Lifeguard Application | Rec Leader Application)
- Check out the photo the City of Dunedin shared on Facebook of the Dunedin Public Library! As the oldest public library in Pinellas County, many are surprised to learn it dates back to 1895. According to their post, the library got its start when "Mr. Christopher B. Bouton, a winter resident from Cleveland, presented 200 books to Dunedin 'for public use.'" (City of Dunedin via Facebook)
- Congratulations to Trinity Clincy of Dunedin High School for being selected as Pinellas County Player of the Week! Between Jan. 23 and Jan. 27, Trinity averaged 17 points, 10 steals, and three rebounds in the team's wins against Hudson, Osceola, and Shorecrest. (Dunedin High School via Facebook)
