Inspired by Dunedin:

So many Dunedin Patch readers send me art they've created inspired by our wonderful community, so I'm trying out this new section in the newsletter! Check out this inspiring poem written by Dunedin resident Tim Conroy after experiencing one of the Pipers on the Pier events:

Pipers on the Pier

The pipers at sunset on the pier
play with the music of a tidal sound
and people gather, young and old
with the many accents of the grateful.
Far can a soul be moved by the pipers
when the sun fades into the west.
All wait for the last prodding note then turn
to greet the community of a Dunedin day.
The drummers twirl their sticks on cue,
pointing hopeful eyes toward ice cream.
While the piper band marches away,
glassy-eyed dogs nuzzle their companions.

—Tim Conroy, author of Theologies of Terrain
