- If you noticed smoke billowing from Caladesi Island on Wednesday, there's no need to worry as it's the result of a controlled burn in the area. A prescribed fire — also known as a controlled burn — is a safe way for agencies to reduce hazardous fuel build-ups and wildfire risks. It also helps restore health to ecosystems that depend on fire. If you missed the smoke, you can see a video of it in the full article. (WTSP)
- Dunedin Parks & Recreation will offer a social dance and concert at the Hale Senior Activity Center on April 20 at 3:00 PM. The event will be led by the sounds of the "The Dunedin 3 O'clock Big Band" featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and the hits of the 1940s-90s. This 18-piece Big Band is led by Ed Geimer who has led the US Air Force Band and played in Broadway shows for over 20 years. Stop by and partake in various dance styles including swing, ballads, waltzes, polkas, and Latin music! Tickets are $5 at the door. (Patch Dunedin)
- Actor Dean Cain noticed one major difference between filming in Dunedin rather than in a big city like Los Angeles. "In Los Angeles, if people saw us shooting here right now, nobody would be quiet," he said from the set of his new movie. "Here, everybody is extremely helpful, they're friendly, we are at City Hall. I sat in the mayor's chair all day because I play the mayor." Cain is also enjoying his time downtown, saying "Usually when we come in to do a film, we pop in, and pop out. You don't get to spend any time around the community. The fact we are shooting here and staying here is great. I have been able to see Main Street, all these great shops and restaurants." Read the full article to learn more about Cain's stay in Dunedin. (FOX 13)

- Pinellas County Government has posted a new sign when approaching the bridges along the Dunedin Causeway alerting bicyclists of a new rule. Bicyclists must stop and dismount their bikes when traveling over the bridge sidewalks. The walkway narrows at these sections and becomes dangerous for both pedestrians and bicyclists. (Facebook)
- The City of Dunedin thanks all who helped make the annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway Saturday happen and to the residents who picked up and planted their trees, helping make Dunedin a greener place to live. If you weren't able to pick up a free tree this year, look out for the event next Arbor Day! (Facebook)
