Sons Of The American Revolution Provide Color Guard

Sons of the American Revolution Clearwater Chapter provide Color Guard at Wreaths Across America activities at Dunedin Cemetery

DUNEDIN, FL - Members of the Sons of the American Revolution Clearwater Chapter participated and provided the Color Guard in the Wreaths Across America commemoration at the Dunedin Cemetery on Saturday, December 18th. In addition to the Sons of the American Revolution, members of the Civil Air Patrol, Dunedin JROTC program and volunteers from various veterans organizations attended the observance led by Dunedin Mayor Julie Bujalski.

The Color Guard unit of the Sons of the American Revolution Clearwater Chapter is specifically referred to as the Samuel Adams Camp, Sons of Liberty Brigade of the Florida Society Sons of the American Revolution. The Camp is comprised of members of the Clearwater Chapter who invest in a Tricorn hat and blazer or full replica uniform of the Revolutionary War period. The Camp participates in various ceremonies, parades and other events.

Camp members that participated in the Color Guard were Secretary Larry Patterson, Treasurer Robert Anderson with the United States Flag and First Vice President Walter Arnold with the Sons of the American Revolution Flag. Second Vice President Harry Fuller helped coordinate the event and took photographs.

Wreaths Across America is a national effort to place wreaths at the graves of veterans during the holiday season and is a non-profit organization founded to continue and expand the ceremony in all the United States and beyond.
