  • In honor of Women's History Month, the City of Dunedin shared a fun tidbit of our city's history. Dunedin was the first city in Florida to receive a National Votes for Women Trail Marker in recognition of Dunedin resident Elizabeth Skinner. Skinner led suffrage meetings and Florida Federation of Women's Club meetings in the former Library Hall. You can see the marker on Edgewater Drive at the site of the old library. • The Dunedin Fine Art Center online auction is now live! You can get a look at some of the items being auctioned off at the link. To participate, register online here. The auction ends on March 18. (Dunedin Fine Art Center via Facebook)
  • Friends of the Island Parks shared some interesting facts about "Henry," the gopher tortoise recently painted on the Curlew water tower! Apparently, the turtle is named after a Swiss immigrant named 'Henry' Scharrer, who built a homestead on Caladesi Island in 1888. "He was a self-taught naturalist. His daughter, Myrtle Scharrer Betz, grew up on Caladesi Island and wrote a book about their life on the island, 'Yesteryear I Lived in Paradise.'" (Friends of the Island Parks via Facebook)
  • Registration is open for summer camps at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, with options available for kids between 5 and 14. Camp options include Sizzlin' Summer Visual Arts Camp
Arts in Motion, Mural Madness, Art Squad Teen Art Camp, iPad Explorations, and Mini Masters. Those interested can learn more and register online here. (Dunedin Fine Art Center via Facebook)
