Here are the top 3 stories in Dunedin today:

  1. Expect road closures downtown this weekend to make room for The Downtown Dunedin Arts Festival. Roads will be closed today starting at 4:00 AM through January 9 at 8:00 PM. Main Street will be closed between Louden Avenue and Broadway. Parts of Douglas Avenue and Highland will be closed as well. See the city's road closure map for full details. (Road Closure Map)
  2. Dunedin Cares is hosting a pop-up speakeasy on January 22 at the Dunedin Golf and Country Club. The Bootlegger's Ball is a Roaring 20s-themed gala and its first fundraiser event. Tickets include entertainment, food stations, and drinks during cocktail hour including wine, beer, and a signature event cocktail. Twenties attire is encouraged, but not required to attend. Guests can expect live music, a live auction, and more surprises throughout the night. Tickets are available online. (Dunedin Cares)
  3. Three Rotary Clubs in Dunedin will hold a dedication ceremony for a Peace Pole on February 23 at 6:00 PM in Highlander Park. The pole will be eight feet tall with four sides and will bear the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in eight languages. The Peace Pole Project is a global initiative that was started by Masahisa Goi in 1955 inspired by the devastation of World War II. There are currently 250,000 Peace Poles around the world.
