Cypress Woods Students Take Special Ride
The school held their "Speak Up Be Safe Rally" earlier this week.

Earlier this week some elementary students got to get up close and personal with a historical piece of machinery.
The ride on East Lake Fire's antique American LaFrance fire truck took place during Cypress Woods Elementary School's "Speak Up Be Safe Rally." The students chosen to ride were winners of a special essay contest sponsored by The East Lake Sunrise Rotary and East Lake Fire and Rescue.
One winning essay was chosen from each grade and the winners received a commendation and a gift certificate donated by San's Pizzeria and Restaurant, according to a media release by Fire Chief Tom Jamison.
