East Lake Man Accused of Sending Life-Threatening Texts

An East Lake man is accused of sending several text messages to a woman threatening to kill her.

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies say Craig Edward Belcher, 27, sent several text messages to the woman's cell phone, including, "I am coming there now to murder you," "I am going to kill you," "You're dead," and "It's time to pay the piper."

The arrest affidavit said there was no weapon seized. It also said there was no indication Belcher was under the influence of drugs or alcohol; however, it did mention it appeared he might suffer from mental health issues.

Belcher was charged with one count of felony written threat to kill or do bodily harm and was booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Online jail records list his status as awaiting trial with bond set at $5,000. Β
